The 55 year old Kamal Haasan also added: “I’m looking
forward to the next 10 years which I hope will be the best years of my career.”
It proves beyond doubt that there is nobody who is more passionate about cinema
than the master himself.
Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Ambika Soni
said: “A retrospective gives people an opportunity to view works of art on a
vast spectrum. It is a visual treat for movie buffs. It is important to view
classics, as they make a tremendous impact on society. We have cinematic
diversity in our country. Our brand entity is not only because of Bollywood,
but also because of the creative genius of all languages.”
The minister also said: “This is an acknowledgement of your
contribution for the past 50 years. After his debut in Kalathur Kannamma in
1959, Kamal has been honoured with several awards. In fact, he may be the most
awarded person in the country.”
